When you'd use this
- Padding a logo or product photo out to a square (or any fixed size) a marketplace or template requires
- Adding letterbox or pillarbox bars around a photo to fit a specific aspect ratio, without cropping the subject
- Positioning an icon consistently within a fixed-size frame across a set of assets
If the canvas you set is smaller than the photo in one direction, that side of the photo will be cropped off rather than shrunk — use the Crop tool first if you need to trim it down before aligning.
