Chrome Extension (.crx) Viewer

Reads a Chrome extension's manifest.json directly — name, version, and every permission and host permission it requests.

Why it exists

Checking what a browser extension can actually access before installing it is a genuine, everyday privacy check.

How to use it

Drop a .crx file. The tool locates the zip payload inside (skipping past the signature header) and reads manifest.json directly.

Good to know

This reads the manifest; it doesn't verify the file's cryptographic signature.
