.DS_Store Viewer

Reads a macOS .DS_Store file — the per-folder cache of Finder metadata macOS creates automatically — and lists every record it holds per file: icon positions, view settings, and more.

Why it exists

Seeing what Finder metadata macOS has quietly stored about a folder's contents, similar in spirit to what Thumbs.db does on Windows.

How to use it

Drop a .DS_Store file. Every record appears grouped by filename.

Good to know

Blob-type records (like icon positions) are shown as raw byte previews rather than fully decoded, since many encode their own nested formats.
