pcap/pcapng Viewer

Reads a network packet capture (both classic pcap and the newer pcapng format) and lists every packet with timestamp, source/destination, ports and protocol.

Why it exists

Seeing what's in a capture file without opening a full packet analyzer covers most quick 'what happened here' questions.

How to use it

Drop a .pcap or .pcapng file. Every packet appears in a table with a decoded summary.

Good to know

Decodes Ethernet/IPv4/TCP/UDP headers for a readable summary — it isn't a full protocol dissector and doesn't decode payloads or other protocols.
